It might be the biggest four days in the history of UTSA's football program, and the Roadrunners can only watch.
Marcus Davenport is headed to the NFL Combine in what may make or break his first round draft status.
Davenport can put UTSA on the map by going in the top dozen picks or so. He's been climbing up the draft boards ever since the end of his brilliant senior season. He had a fumble return to cap off a great week at the Senior Bowl.
And some say he could go in the Top 10. So why is he so good?
The 6-foot-7, 265-pound Davenport posted 55 tackles and set school records with 17.5 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks and eight quarterback hurries and was recently named the 2017 Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year.
Davenport finished his UTSA career as the program’s all-time leader in tackles for loss (38.0), sacks (22.0) and QB hurries (21).
Davenport and the rest of the defensive lineman and linebackers are scheduled to workout Sunday at the NFL Combine.
