SAN ANTONIO - Heading into Thursday, Johnson kicker Brody Patty was 27-of-27 in his career.

He ended up 29-of-31 by the end, but it didn’t matter as his team took down Roosevelt (3-5) 12-9.

The game began slow, if you’re interested in offense. Two Patty missed field goals kept the score tied at zero until just before half.

With less than :30 left, the Jaguars (6-2) reached the goalline, but were unable to score. Patty was able to squeeze in his first field goal of the night, making it a 3-0 lead to end the half.

The second half had more explosion, but you had to wait for it.

After Johnson extended its lead 6-0, Roosevelt still needed a little push.

Thankfully for the Rough Riders, the defense had that push, forcing a safety to make it a 6-2 game.

On the next Roosevelt drive, Rashod Owens showed off his athleticism with a long touchdown run, taking the first Rough Rider lead of the night with just under five minutes left.

But Johnson took the punch and used it to inspire Justin Rodriguez on a 37-yard touchdown scamper, bringing us to the final score.

Rodriguez, who scored once, also put up 245 yards and is this Thursday Night Lights player of the game.
