BOERNE - Jalen Griffin set a huge benchmark going forward for high school wide receivers playing Thursday games.
Griffin had 190 yards and three touchdowns to lead Brandeis to a 49-33 win over Boerne Champion on Hallmark University Thursday Night Lights presented by Jack in the Box.
Griffin's 190 yards broke the all-time Thursday Night Lights record for receiving yards. Marlon Flores-Flores rushed for 172 yards and two touchdowns, while QB Kyle Fitzgerald passed for 247 yards and three TDs and rushed for 83 for another two scores in the victory.
Boerne Champion was led by QB Davis Brin, who passed for 170 yards and three touchdowns.

SAN ANTONIO - We've got another great matchup on Hallmark University Thursday Night Lights presented by Jack in the Box.
This week it's Brandeis at Boerne Champion. Year in and year out, they are two of the area's consistently solid programs and perennial playoff teams.
The Chargers (1-1) are coming off a big win over Stevens where Davis Brin threw for 237 yards and four touchdowns, with WR Chase Locke catching three of those TDs.
Meanwhile, the Broncos (1-1) got a big confidence boost when they topped highly regarded Alamo Heights.
QR Reed Anderson threw for 320 yards and a pair of touchdowns - one to Nik Proctor and two to William Dehlinger.
Brandeis has a new head coach this year, so I'm sure there have been some growing pains through training camp, and the first half month of the season.
And Boerne Champion has Keith Kaiser, who's been there eight years and has a tremendous winning record and with a young team who hopes to be hitting their stride in a few weeks.
Looking forward to the trip to Boerne, the Broncos and Chargers kick off at 7 p.m. TONIGHT on the CW 35.
