Harlandale seeks to continue win streak against Holmes
SAN ANTONIO – Harlandale faces off against Holmes in this week's Thursday Night Lights.
The gridiron battle continues and Harlandale High School is currently on a three win, win streak. Harlandale comes in at 3-0 after an overtime win against Central Catholic.
Isaac Martinez, Harlandale Head Football Coach says he wants the team to stay grounded in life and wants the team to win.
"We understand the magnitude of ballgames and the teams that we play. Every time we take the field on Friday night or a Thursday night as is the case this week. We want to win the ball game but more importantly we stay grounded in life and life can bring it's good and it's bad and the ball games can bring the ups and the downs and you just play through them and do the best that you can,” said Martinez.
Holmes is 2-1 heading into the matchup and has not played a game against Harlandale in over a decade. Since Harlandale had to drop down to 5A, the two teams do not meet each other on the gridiron as much as they used to.
Based on previous record, the game should be highly competitive and entertaining.
