Even during a down season in play, the San Antonio Spurs still find their franchise value improving.
Forbes Magazine released their latest The Business of Basketball which gives a detailed list of every NBA franchise and where they rank among value and increased value.
The Spurs ranked 14th overall valued at $1.8 billion, which is up 11% from 2019. This puts them right under the Portland Trail Blazers to be the most valuable teams within smaller media markets in the NBA and throughout the United States.
The Toronto Raptors had the biggest value increase of 25% as they rank 10th at $2.1 billion in value.The top three are the New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers and the Golden State Warriors, all valued in the $4 billion range.
According to Forbes, every NBA team is worth $1.9 billion. This is a 13% spike from last season.
Note, the two other NBA teams in Texas - Rockets and Mavericks - rank 8th and 9th respecitively. Houston is valued at $2.475 billion while Dallas is valued at $2.4 billion.
