The Austin Spurs (15-9), presented by SWBC, defeated the South Bay Lakers (10-14) by a final score of 123-106 on the road Sunday night.
San Antonio Spurs assignee Keldon Johnson led all scorers with 25 points in 29 minutes of action. Spurs assignee Chimezie Metu posted 18 points, 11 rebounds, 6 blocks and 5 assists in 25 minutes.
Angel Rodriguez recorded 21 points and 4 steals in 26 minutes for the Spurs. Quinndary Weatherspoon contributed 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in 27 minutes, while Daulton Hommes added 13 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists in 21 minutes.
Although the Lakers started the game with a 3-0 advantage, it would be their only lead of the game. Austin led by as many as 28 points (119-91) with five and a half minutes remaining in the fourth quarter and came away with a 123-106 win.
For South Bay, Kostas Antetokounmpo led the team with 22 points to go along with 11 rebounds and 5 steals in 32 minutes. Talen Horton-Tucker put up 16 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists in 35 minutes.
