San Antonio Spurs' DeMar DeRozan is set to see his USC No. 10 jersey retired this week but ahead of the big day, he took time to visit where it all started.

The Spurs guard made a stop at Compton High School to show support for his former high school team during their playoff matchup versus Santa Monica.

The surprise visit left a big impact on the team said head coach Tony Thomas and player Darius Miles.

Via Los Angeles Times:

"It’s my guy," Thomas said of DeRozan. "He never left. We got each other’s backs for life."

"It just shows if he can do it and come back, we have no reason not to play hard," Miles said.

And in case you were wondering, Compton did pick up the playoff win.
