Kerry Blackshear Jr. has been making his rounds as he prepares for this years NBA Draft. After working out with the San Antonio Spurs, he made his way to Los Angeles for a workout with the Lakers.
Blackshear Jr. is a 6’10” forward who played his college basketball at Virginia Tech University since 2015.
In the 2018-19 season, Blackshear Jr. averaged 14.9 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists while shooting 50.8 percent from the field.
This was his best year with Virginia Tech since arriving in 2015. Seeing improvement each year, Blackshear has proven he has what it takes to compete with the best.
The Spurs are just one of the many teams interested in Blackshear Jr. and for good reason. The Spurs saw their season go better than many thought it would, but there is still room for improvement.

Blackshear Jr. would be a fantastic piece for the Spurs as they lack presence in the forward position. Adding a young, athletic and efficient scorer could be crucial with the speculations in this year’s free agency for the Spurs.
