Spurs fans using their voice to help San Antonio businesses in a time of need


San Antonio Spurs fans may bicker on social media about the Silver and Black's play on the court but when it comes to being united for the city their favorite NBA team represents, they are a force for good.

The 2019-20 NBA season was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

But the virus and its spread has reached beyond the hardwood.

It is impacting businesses throughout San Antonio as they have been ordered to scale back in order to slow the virus' spread.

This has taken an economic hit on people's livelihoods and more.

Enter Spurs fans and their rally to support local businesses on social media.

Fans are urging everyone to help businesses in and around San Antonio by visiting their establishment in these difficult times.

Whether it be curb side pick up or ordering online, fans are doing what they can.

And it's not just business fans are helping.

San Antonio native and author, Shea Serrano, is raising funds for people impacted by the coronavirus.

His efforts even caught the attention of former President Barak Obama.
