The Jonathon Simmons era in San Antonio came to an end recently as he signed a 3-year, $20 million contract with the Orlando Magic.

Simmons and the Spurs ultimately couldn't come to an agreement on his future in San Antonio which led to the team pulling their qualifying offer thus making him an unrestricted free agent.

But contrary to any reports that the Spurs were interested in keeping him, come this nugget from our own Casey Keirnan that San Antonio never made Simmons an offer whatsoever.

At the end of the day, the NBA is a business and Simmons is grateful for the time spent with the Spurs and giving him his NBA break.

As not the non-offer, it likely the team's way of allowing him to be an unrestricted free agent, free to sign with the Magic and remove the Spurs from the running.

The Spurs will move forward as they always do and Simmons is now set in Orlando.
