When the dust settled in the AT&T Center after the San Antonio Spurs thrilling double-overtime win over the Oklahoma City Thunder, Spurs' LaMarcus Aldridge penciled his name in the franchise record books.
With his whopping 56-point outing, Aldridge became seventh player with 50-plus points in a game in Spurs history. Not only was it one for the Spurs' records, it was also his personal career-high in points.
When the final buzzer sounded, Aldridge was seen on the AT&T Center floor asking for the game-ball to commemorate his special night. Once he secured it, he took it with him and took extra steps to ensure nothing happens to the ball.
Following the game, Aldridge was thankful to join the NBA's 50-point scorers club and showed just how far he went to take care of the ball by strapping it in.
Blessed to finally be in the 50 points club!
It certainly was a special night for the Spurs and Aldridge.
