Apparently, Fox Sports' Chris Carter must have some really close ties with San Antonio Spurs' Kawhi Leonard and his camp.

Just a few days ago, the co-host of "First Things First," revealed that he knew that Spurs' Gregg Popovich was going to make Kawhi "happy" and trade him.

Now he is claiming that he knows for a fact that Leonard has not backed off from his wishes of landing in Los Angeles and is not interested in being a "rental" next season.

“Nothing’s changed from Kawhi’s side from these standpoints - he still wants to go to Los Angeles, and he’s still not interested in being rented out for one season, so that being Philadelphia, Boston, Toronto or any other team.
The thing that we should know is San Antonio has been in contact with Kawhi and his people, and they’ve told them that if something was to get real, real close, we’ll reach out to you.

That is some access Carter has to Kawhi and his group.

If what he says is true, note the Spurs do not have to bend to Kawhi's wishes. If the team decides to trade him to a non-L.A. team, the Spurs can and will likely do that. They can find what they consider the best deal even if it means trading Leonard to a place he does not desire, reportedly.

Keep in mind Carter is speaking about information from Kawhi's side and not the Spurs' side.
