San Antonio Spurs' Marco Belinelli has announced he'll play with Team Italy at the upcoming 2019 FIBA World Cup in China via Corriere Dello Sport.

I still have a year of contract with San Antonio, but now the NBA season is over I am with the National team. I am happy to have seen some teammates and the coaching staff.
We now hope to make an important run at the World Cup."

Belinelli has gone through medical exams and is set to join the the Italian Nation team.

"The teams are very strong, and the World Cup is an important competition we all hold. We will try to do a group to do well."

The FIBA World Cup begins this August 31.

Belinelli also weighed in on the Spurs' 2018-19 season saying it was rocky but thinks the team will look to get better next season.

"It was a fluctuating season, started badly but then we found ourselves playing good months of basketball. We arrived at the playoffs, where we suffered in the series against Denver. Credit to them because they are a good team, now we will try to improve next year."
