A picture of a man who is searching for a kidney for his wife has gone viral and now strangers are offering their own kidneys to help.

The picture shows Raymond Thompson wearing a backpack in the laundry detergent aisle of a store. On his backpack is a sign that reads, "In need of a kidney for my wife B+" and a phone number is listed.

An editor for CNN tweeted the picture and it's been shared by thousands.

Thompson says he's received several calls from strangers offering his wife a kidney. He also says he and his wife have no plans to set up a GoFundMe account. It's really just a kidney they're looking for.

Thompson told CNN he'll soon start contacting those who have offered to be tested to find out if any are a match.
