Check out some great information about Texas marijuana laws, how they could change, and what it means to you.
Texas lawmakers in Austin are now considering a number of bills concerning marijuana. While the complete legalization of recreational use is not a possibility - at least this session - some proposals would expand medical use and others would lessen the penalties for those arrested for small amounts of marijuana.
Bexar County is also getting ready to move forward with a 'cite-and-release' program for those caught with small amounts of pot.
Watch our Town Hall meeting we aired live Thursday night as we explored all those topics with representatives from a number of organizations.
They include NORML (the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws) , SACADA (the San Antonio Council on Drug and Alcohol Awareness), the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Bexar County District Attorney's Office, a doctor with UT Health San Antonio, as well as a woman who was arrested for drugs when her baby was born with marijuana in her system.
Randy Beamer moderated this Town Hall at the Tobin Center in downtown San Antonio on Thursday May 9, 2019.
