On the one year anniversary of the Sutherland Springs shooting, a San Antonio woman plans to honor the memory of the 26 people killed by running 26 miles.

Elizabeth Reyes, an art teacher at the Edgewood Independent School District, started her 26-mile honor run at the Comanche Park Trail Head at 6 a.m.

The route of her run will take her along County Road 87, all the way to the First Baptist Church along Sutherland Springs.

Reyes is carrying a Texas Flag embroidered with 26 white ribbons; the name and age of each victim on each ribbon. The ribbons were handmade by students at Memorial High School.

In a statement released Monday morning, Reyes says, "I will need all the love, support and prayers as I run and carry the spirit of the Sutherland Springs community."
