SAN ANTONIO - The Tropical Storm is continuing to pick up strength in the Gulf of Mexico as forecasts now show it to be a hurricane Saturday afternoon.

Tropical Storm Hanna is predicted to hit Texas south of Corpus Christi as the first hurricane of the season. The track did shift slightly further south but we should still see about one to two inches of rain in the San Antonio area.

The storm is predicted to hit land at 75 mph, which would make it a Category 1 Hurricane. There could be wind gusts of up to 40 mph in our area and flooding risks will escalate.

Counties in the area have been issued a Hurricane warning for Hanna.
