SAN ANTONIO - We're getting answers from physicians about the latest coronavirus developments.
Dr. Ralph Riviello, chairman of ER medicine at UT Health San Antonio, says while COVID-19 vaccine candidates remain in development, he does encourage everyone to get their flu shot as soon as possible.
Riviello says local health leaders are also closely monitoring COVID-19 cases now that small numbers of children are heading back to campus. City and health officials are hoping numbers stay low.
We also asked Riviello about the damage COVID-19 can do to the human body. He said health officials are seeing infected patients with damage to their lungs, inflammation to their heart and blood clot conditions.
