The Florida Department of Health (FDOH) in St. Lucie County lifted a swim advisory for River Park Marina and Veterans Park on the North Fork of the St. Lucie River.
According to a news release, water samples were taken on Monday and results for enteric bacteria came back satisfactory.
Enteric bacteria inhabit the intestinal tract of humans and animals and their presence in recreational waters is an indicator of fecal pollution, according to the FDOH.
The advisory was in effect since Aug. 8, according to the FDOH. The areas will continue to be tested every other week.
