CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - As Hurricane Hanna swept through South Texas over the weekend, Gov. Greg Abbott announced Monday he would be meeting with locals on Tuesday and survey the damage it caused.
The governor says no deaths were reported from the storm in Kleberg or Nueces counties in large part due to the heroic efforts of members of Texas Task Force One.

Abbott also says there are no area residents in shelters at this time, which is good especially during a pandemic.
"During a time of having a hurricane while also in the midst of a infectious disease pandemic people gathering in shelters is a particular compromise situation," Abbott said. "So it's good that no one is in a shelter because that means that is one location less where the transmission of COVID-19 could be taking place.
The governor still urging folks to take precautions against COVID-19 as they cleanup from the storm.
