Port St. Lucie, Tequesta, Sebastian and a few other cities in our area are ranked among the top 50 safest cities in Florida, according to a new study.
Security Baron used information from the FBI's 2016 and 2016 Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) data to determine how Florida cities ranked in safety.
Some of the factors used in determining city safety were murder rate, burglary and robbery rates, assault and rape rates and even median income for each city.
Riviera Beach, West Palm Beach and Lantana ranked in at 151, 152 and 156, respectively, out of 167 cities in the entire state. Florida City, in south Miami-Dade County, came in dead last.
