The San Antonio family that mistook a pair of bobcat kittens for regular domestic kittens could be facing charges.

The City of San Antonio Animal Care Services says that the bobcats were actually found in Atascosa County by a relative of the family--who suffered bites from the kittens--and brought into the San Antonio home.

Animal Care Services is working with Texas Parks and Wildlife to investigate whether criminal charges could be filed over the kittens' capture and relocation.

The family that relocated the bobcats says they believed they were Bengal kittens, a rare domestic breed.

The bobcat kittens remain under quarantine.
