Austin Police investigating homicide at northeast Austin Waffle House that left one dead

Austin Police say they are investigating a homicide at a northeast Austin Waffle House Saturday morning.

Law enforcement responded to 8800 East Highway 290 at around 4:38 a.m. for reports of a multiple vehicle disturbance.

Upon arrival officials found shell cases in the parking lot of the Waffle House and signs of a disturbance.

Later, law enforcement located one of the cars involved in the disturbance down the road on Happy Trail. The victim found in that vehicle and was pronounced dead at 4:47 a.m. Police say they have identified him as male but are unsure of his age at this time.

APD says they do not believe there is danger to the public.

Crime scene and homicide units are actively investigating as police try to learn more.
