In the shadow of the Millennium Falcon, stars gathered Thursday to celebrate the premiere of “Solo: A Star Wars Story.”

Disney built a giant replica of Han Solo’s legendary spacecraft on Hollywood Boulevard for the occasion.

“Solo” stars Alden Ehrenreich as a younger version of the iconic smuggler played by Harrison Ford in the original “Star Wars” trilogy. It also features Donald Glover as a young Lando Calrissian, a role originated in “The Empire Strikes Back” by Billy Dee Williams.

Williams was in attendance for Thursday’s premiere, as were Mark Hamill, “Star Wars” creator George Lucas, and Peter Mayhew, who portrayed Solo’s Wookiee co-pilot Chewbacca in five films. Finnish actor and former basketball player Joonas Suotamo played Chewie in “Solo.”

“Solo” is the second standalone film to spin off from the franchise, following 2016’s “Rogue One.” Ron Howard took over directing duties mid-production after Lucasfilm removed original helmers Phil Lord and Chris Miller. In addition to Ehrenreich and Glover, the film stars Emilia Clarke, Woody Harrelson, Thandie Newton, Paul Bettany, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

“Solo: A Star Wars Story” opens in theaters on May 25.
