INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WKRC) — An Indiana state senator has introduced a bill that would allow for the seizure of a car if a driver passes a stopped school bus with the stop arm extended.

Sen. Ron Alting proposed Senate Bill 219. It would allow for the vehicle seizure similar to what happens during a drug seizure.

After the first reading on Monday, the bill was referred to the judiciary committee.

If it's passed, it would take effect in July 2020.
