There are times when a sequel is better than the original and it sure is shaping up that way for the Ant-Man and The Wasp.
On the same night that Marvel held a red-carpet premiere for Black Panther, they released the first trailer for what is shaping up to be another summer blockbuster.
Peyton Reed is directing the Marvel sequel, with Laurence Fishburne joining the series as Bill Foster, known in the comics as the hero Black Goliath and later becoming Giant-Man. Michelle Pfeiffer is playing original Wasp (and Hope's mother) Janet van Dyne.
The first trailer shows off what Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly?) can do now that she has a size-changing suit of her own. Paul Rudd's Scott Lang (AKA Ant-Man) is a little jealous of her capabilities, asking Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) accusingly, "You gave her wings, and blasters?"
We also get a sneak peak at The Ghost and what happened to Scott Lang after Captain America: Civil War.
It looks like Reed is really upping the ante in terms of what we'll see visually in Ant-Man and The Wasp because buildings, vehicles, and even a Pez dispenser shrink and increase in size here.
Ant-Man and the Wasp opens July 6.
