The San Antonio Spurs fell to the Utah Jazz, 99-101, after building a 13-point lead late in the second half.
San Antonio couldn't stop Utah's offense, as the Jazz scored 32 points in the final period. In the final frame, turned the ball over four times leading to six Utah points.
Add cold shooting from the 3-point line for the game (24%) and Utah's Donovan Mitchell scoring 13 of his 25 points in the game, all but doomed the Spurs.
This is the Spurs’ second loss in a row and brings their Rodeo Road Trip Record to 1-2 and regular-season record to 35-23.
Let’s take a look at who shined and who didn’t for the Spurs tonight.
The Spurs were without LaMarcus Aldridge and Pau Gasol made sure to help fill the void. He dominated the game by adding 15 points, 15 rebounds, and 6 assists in 33 minutes.
What stood out the most was Gasol’s fourth quarter play as he totaled seven points and two rebounds.
He also notched his 12th double-double of the season.
Patty Mills failed to put up any points tonight. In fact, his only stats for the night were four assists and three personal fouls.
The Jazz were able to keep Mills from going to his classic spot up three shot. Because of this, Mills only had two field goals attempted and missed them both.
The Spurs could've used his offense against a Jazz team late in the fourth quarter.
